Runner girl...


Today I started training for the League's 5K this upcoming April. I have approximately twelve weeks to train for this race. My goal is to run the entire 5K but we'll see how that goes. You have to have a goal in sight! I'm doing this in part to step up my gym routine, but I also like having a goal to work towards.

Tonight was day one and the schedule included 5 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking - 5 times. I ended up running (actually running) almost 2 miles. Not too bad. It's been about an hour since I left the gym and my legs are starting to hurt. I go back to the gym tomorrow for the same and then back Saturday for 6 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking - 5 times. Sunday is 45 minutes of cross training and I should receive week two's schedule. Wish me luck!

  1. So proud of you Kelly. I am running this with Kelly and have started my training. She has very little time, and a very consuming job, so I am amazed she is taking this on.

    I have started with booze and cigarettes. Those of you who have seen me write here(well Kelly) are probably not surprised. That is my training, and I love it. My slight hang over today will help with the pain when I feel the hurt after the first mile, and I will be able to push through. My camel back during the race will be filled with bourbon and gator aid. When you are drunk, you can do anythingI will even not shave and wear a wife beater! That'll give me the entire persona of a drunk! Drunks look bad ass, or losers..I am going for bad a$$. I added those dollar signs for Kellys mom. Trying to clean my act up a bit.

    Hopefully I will stay out of jail, never been there before. My pretty boy self probably would have a bf quickly and be stuck in there forever :(.....

    For those of you concerned about Kelly, I have never beaten anyone..and GG is quite the attack cat!
